Camping lights

I need a lantern/light/lamp that isn't bright white LED - gives me the glare and I would much rather a homelier 'yellow' light for the evenings. Any suggestions?

I also rather fancy purchasing some solar fairy lights for the outside of our tent - crap idea? Will we be hated by our fellow Campers?

We have a gas lantern, gives such a bright light but not the cold LED type of bright. Great for outoors.

We have battery fairy lights for corners of our tent. They're yellow but don't give off a lot of light. I'm toying with the idea of painting the outside of our lanterns with glass paint to give a warmer tone...just need to pick the moment to tell hubby!! Not sure he'll be impressed!

I had some solar fairy lights but the were really temperamental so have just invested in a string of warm white weatherproof festoon lights and an AA battery box from Lights4fun. To adorn our new tent. Did I mention we've got a new tent?

Agree with hz, I also really like Campingaz Lumogaz lanterns for a proper old-school camping glow, and the light is adjustable.

Oh I quite like the idea of little AA battery lights for the girls's sleeping pod. Nice glow for them.

We have solar lights on stakes, the ones you get for garden paths, just cheapie ones from wilkos that we put either side of the door (makes finding you tent after night time loo trips so much easier).

Otherwise we have lots of lights, various battery lanterns, a ufo light for the ceiling, for when you come back to the tent in the dark and need a big light to even find the lanterns .

Also have a campingaz light for sitting outside, the hiss they make is the sound of camping for me :)
