We are going camping for two weeks and we have electric hook up.

We are just starting to build our equipment up and would really like to purchase a fridge to keep stuff like butter, milk and cheese chilled.

I have no idea where to start looking and wondered if any of you lovely campers would have some advice or recommendations. Thanks! Smile

We have ridiculously expensive expedition thing that runs off a second battery in our Landy...it's amazing but unless you're going for weeks at a time in heat it's not worth the spend. We had a gas one...it was rubbish and I was petrified of it too. We also had an Outwell electric one which works fine as long as it's not in the high 20's for days on end. Fine for milk, wine, butter etc but maybe not strong soft cheese and pate!!

We've bought a 2nd hand mini fridge from Ebay (like you'd have on a worktop) - last year we had an electric coolbox, which was really only good for keeping things in for about 24 hours. We're yet to use it (although we've tested that it works obviously). We only paid about 35 for it.

There are many Icey Tek fans on this site who can rave for hours about them. As a recently new convert I have yet to get bored of commenting on mine which at the moment is definitely my favourite bit of camping kit.
It's not electric so you do really need to do the work on pre-cooling but I can't recommend them highly enough :)

Depending on where you are camping, the site may hire out fridges.
