Bow Rigg - who has been?

We're booked into Boe Rigg at the start of school summer holidays, have been reading reviews on Trip Advisor and UK Campsite and there are some mentions of "a big hill" to the toilets which are a "good walk away".

Is this true? How far away are the loos from the pitches?

I've just spent a week in Scotland a good 5 min walk to the loos which began to piss me off no end. Pardon the pun.

It's one of my fave campsites. I don't know what the actual fuck they're on about with the big Hill. We stayed in the wild camping bit which is as far from the toilet blocks as it gets and there is a gentle incline followed by a downwards slope. No big Hill.

I've reviewed it on UK campsite (yellowdinosaur)

At most it would be a couple of mins walk from the farthest pitches.

Thanks! Thickos on Trip Advisor strike again!!

Can't wait for July!

We went a few weeks back and it's fine. The toilets and showers are lovely, I guess if you were in the wild camping bit it would be about a 3 minute walk. Anyway it's a lovely hill with great views.
Bring your own firewood though, thiers is expensive.

We stayed.
The loos are lovely, very warm.
The hill is small.
The coffee shop is lovely but expensive.
It's on a busy and noisy road.
Well spaced pitches.
I thought it was a bit pricey.

Ahh thanks!

Urgh just realised the auto complete "bow" in the title. Profuse apologies.

I agree with Mother, it was a bit pricey, especially the cafe.

Personally I thought it was very reasonable considering the great facilities and quiet location (cars go fast along the road but I didn't think it was that busy or noisy and pitches are well clear of the road). But I guess we're all going to have different expectations.

The only thing I bought from the cafe was delicious beckleberry's ice cream! They even had gin and tonic flavour! So I can't comment on the cost there.

Gin and Tonic ice cream, how did I miss that?!Grin
