camping pods

Has anyone stayed in one?

We are looking at staying Monday to Friday in a camping pod at a site near barmouth in the summer holidays.

They are fairly cheap, we've already got most of the basic camping gear and it'll save us spending 300+ on a tent.

Any information/tips would be appreciated.

We stayed in them when the kids were younger and they were great. Just like a tent but more soundproofed and darker in the morning. In fact I even took some blackout material.... Some have electric, a pull out bed, heating etc. others you just sleep on the floor. Anything else just ask!

Thanks, these ones ive seen are carpeted, have electric and a light in them and also a tv in there.
I think we'll just need to take air beds and sleeping bags, probably the kettle, toaster and a camping stove. It'll be our 1st holiday in about 6 years, so its good to hear that they are good Smile

If you go knowing it will be pretty basic you will have an amazing time. The ones we went to had a kind of small lip over doorway, a bit like a porch. I have fond memories of sitting under there in the pouring rain, kids asleep, drinking a beer. Bliss

We had a couple of nights in one last October and it was very cosy. The one we were in provided a big plastic box with a lid for keeping things in, as there isn't much space, and that was handy. If you can park next to the pod then I'd recommend keeping stuff in the car (I have enough clutter at home and like to be tidy on holiday).
