Tech help needed - Quechua family seconds tent?

2nd year of this tent, have the 4.1. The guy ropes came pre-knotted and attached at 2 points on the tent seams but I can't seem to position them so that the outside wall of the bedroom ends lifts off the floor. In this weekend's torrentialrain, a good foot at the end was laying on the floor with water pooling on it in a puddle rather than running off. On the positive side, stayed completely dry inside! but do lose quite a lot of room at the end so I'd like to fix if possible. It's like they need to be fixed about a foot above the ground. Can't find anything online and no Decathlon store close by us. Does anybody have any tips? Thanks in advance.

Isn't the Quechua a pop-up? IIRC, the small pop-ups were a right pita for this. I fear it may be an irredeemable design flaw.

Can't help but we had exactly the same problem with the same tent this weekend. We though it was because we pitched on a slight incline as I don't think we had that problem last year.

Yes we had that too this weekend. I can't remember whether it has always been a problem though. We have to pitch it soon to dry it though so I will see if I can work out a cure and let you know if I can.

is this a good tent? was looking at getting it for 2 adults and 2 children

We had that happen a couple of times, I actually think it is to do with the pitching of the rest of the tent! If you can get the front part pitched well and the ground sheet "Square" it seems to make the back better.

I have resorted to propping the back up once with a couple of large pegs on a very windy site when we didnt pitch it very successfully.

Absolutely brilliant tent, we only ever sleep 3 in ours as we have a bigger tent for whole family trips but I love the 4.1. They dont seem to make it anymore

No they don't make the 4.1 any more sadly, Ineed. In fact, Decathlon really appear to have cut back severely on their range of pop up family tents in favour of far more expensive inflatable ones. The result is that second hand pop ups are selling very expensively on Ebay when they appear.

It is a shame as the 4.1 and the original 4.2 were great tents, and the old living rooms, the Bases as they were called, are really popular too - there is only one Base still being sold now.

I hope they have a re-think as there are now only one or two family pop up options to choose from.

I agree MPFT I also have the living room base tent which we use as a porch or kitchen tent. It is a brilliant combo with either the 4.1 or the family 4.2 xl which I bought last year. The base porch doesnt fit quite as well on the new one but its not bad and only cost £120 in the sale so we manage

I love pop ups but think it will be a while be I can afford the inflatable tents as they are really pricey

Sorry, I forgot to check back after all that! Thanks for your replies. I've looked at the official vid but not searched YouTube so will look at links above and make sure I pitch the other end square. Don't remember it happening previously but is heaviest rain we've experienced in it so more noticeable. It's a great tent in all other respects, I originally got so I could take kids (2dc) away on my own but now we use for all short trips even if 4 of us, much quicker than our huge tent. I'd have gone for the 4.2 if my dcs had been a little older, but like being in same/adjacent space for the moment (dh and I sleep in living area if 4 of us, it would be v cosy in bedroom if all in there). Taking down provides entertainment for neighbours :) and is quite disconcerting as keep thinking poles about to break. Off again in a fortnight so will try again and report back if I have success.
