Hoping to go to Longleat. Can any-one recommend a camp-site nearby? Need electric hook up, play area etc etc. Many thanks

I can't recommend it as haven't stayed there yet (ask me at the end of next week when we've been!) but we are staying at Brokerswood Country Park near Westbury and planning on a trip to Longleat from there. 20 mins drive/10 miles.

The site gets some great reviews as well as having all the attractions of being in the middle of a country park, complete with adventure playgrounds, mini steam train and during the school hols they do activities like canoe-ing and tree climbling! Can't wait!

We're going to Stowford Manor Farm, and on their website it says they're close to Longleat, although, I'm not sure quite how far

Watch the video in the link, there is tents in it at Longleat.

DraggingDownDownDown · 25/05/2014 12:43

Youarejustwordsonascreenpeople - is that the video with the lady and children speaking? If so they are caravans with their Awnings out.

We stayed at Brokerswood last year and had a great time.

We are planning to go to Longleat on the Saturday so can we just access the Country Park in the evening if the boy's want to go on their play equipment. It doesn't show where the camp site is in relation to the activities on the park.

When we stayed at Brokerswood two years ago once you were on the campsite you had access to the woods/playgrounds as long as you wanted. It was very very muddy though and the rain we have had recently means it may well still be muddy...

Many thanks. We are not planning to go till September and it WILL be dry........

Also nearby is the camping and caravan ing site at Seend, Devizes. We've stayed there before, and it's lovely.
Plus there's merkins farm site at Bradford on Avon, which is still close to Longleat, and has good reviews.
From both sites it's about 20-30 min drive to Longleat.

DraggingDownDownDown · 18/06/2014 10:47

We went to Brokerswood again last week and it was great! DD is demanding to return (Some areas were still very muddy though!!!) Shop not got much in it though, but Westbury/Trowbridge/Warmister all near by with supermarkets...
