Pregnant and camping!

DD and I are to go on a camping trip with her school so all very organised. I have checked out the campsite online - very basic but that it not a problem.

What i am worried about is my thrice nightly trips to the loo. I am 16 wks pg and up and down all night at the mo'. Our actual pitches will be at the far end of the site - furtherest from the loo block. Not to give TMI but - there is no way i can see myself lasting the walking distance with a full bladder.

any advice or tips??

Will you be sleeping alone? If so maybe one of those she wee things?

These:

They are brilliant for camping, highly recommend.

will just be dd and i in our tent.

will check out a shewee thing! Grin

We are only allowed to bring one small rucksack each as all equipment provided. DP suggested a covered bucket but dont much fancy doing a morning walk with a galloon of wee on show Smile and how to explain that particular piece of luggage to school....... Grin

I camped at about 30 weeks, the night time toilet trips were definitely an issue. A she wee helped as did a head torch.

weeonion · 10/05/2014 23:52

ah princess - no hedges sadly Smile

No-one knows i am pg as yet (awaiting test results) and dont want to have to tell school just yet.... especially not in the context of urinating....

One tip I remember (cant remember from where) is to line an old ice cream tub with a carrier bag then open up and place a disposable nappy inside and wee on to that, if you need a few wees just add in another nappy on top then in the morning tie the carrier bag handles and bin it Also wouldn't make an obvious 'weeing noise'!

weeonion · 12/05/2014 14:39

doublechochip - that seems like a handy idea!

Worked for me last year, I took the kids camping on my own and didn't want to leave them on their own in the tent in the middle of the night! Also makes it a lot less worrying about the possibility of knocking over a container of wee all over your stuff!

My friend went to glasto when she was 6 months pregnant. Didn't stop her at all, her friends carried a chair for her all day, and she had ahuge porch in the tent where she could go for a wee. Cant let it stop you!

weeonion · 13/05/2014 09:07

thecult - dont want it to stop me at all - planning on a music festival later in pg as well - this is kind of a practice run but wont have friends around me and def no huge porch to wee in!!

working out weeing practicalities has been on my mind. doublechocchip has reassured me on that now though!!
