ok just going to fess up now I am a glamper and rather new to it so before you judge me on this I need my home comforts and won't go without them. I am not a camper and respect those who can but that is not me. I need be be warm and I need a quick cup of tea in the morning. What I really need to know is how does ehu work. I know you have to buy one specifically for it which I have done. Does it have the same amp as the ones at home. I have a king sized inflatable bed which has a built in blowing up system could I blow this up on this? Can you run home appliances on it or is it too low for this? Any advice on how it works would be greatly appreciated it. Thanks

I'm pretty new to camping, don't actually know what you mean by EHU sorry.

Yes you can run all sorts of delightful comforts on ehu. A camping fridge, straighteners, a kettle, a heater... It is a thing of great joy.

If you are using one electrical item at a time you should be ok - but it does vary from campsite to campsite.

We always use the EHU for blowing up the inflatable bed - and have never had a problem. We have a normal kettle, an electric coolbox and charge phones/ipads etc. Our fan heater is the one that trips the electric off - so we can only have it on half power and not quite full heat.

At easter we stayed on a campsite where lots of people were using normal household appliances against the advice of the owners and it kept tripping out the whole site.... so my advice is that its probably best to check with the campsite.

We have a thing that plugs into the car for the air beds.

Thank you so much. The thing we brought for the car only has a 16amp and would not have enough power to blow up the bed. If this is the case do they always have a plug at campsites usually where you can blow up your beds if the hook up does not work?
