I am making a ripple blanket and some bunting for our tent and I wondered if there were any other crafty campers out there and what they were making for their camping trips tis year?

How exciting! I am just starting out on this crafty lark. Being a bit of a glamper, I was buying lots of stuff but last year I decorated a table for round our bell tent pole and am now sold on the idea of making things.

I love the idea of a blanket, but as I can now use a sewing machine (as of last Sunday) bunting is definitely on the cards and possibly a hanging storage thing with pockets for inside the tent. Maybe a tablecloth too, possibly some nice cushions to double as pillows (so cotton removable covers), and maybe drawstring bags for storage.

I bought a book with ideas for camping from Amazon, although a lot of those were for crochet which is a total mystery to me at the moment.

Can't wait to get started...Grin

I am going to fashion a carpet type thing with wipeable sides for boot storage purposes....I think/hope

Bunting is always a must!! Will be watching this with interest to see what ideas I can steal find! This will be our first year camping with baby, so maternity leave means I could be a bit more adventurous with the sewing machine Smile

Owl is making bunting then...... WinkGrin

I'm making a crochet blanket, a cushion cover as I want an inflatable pillow as a cushion on my camping chair and a wrap up canvas roll / bag for the tent pegs. admittedly this isn't very exciting

MummyPig, what was your crochet camping book? I'm intrigued.

ShoeWhore · 08/05/2014 12:58

I'd also like to know about the crochet camping book, would love a new crochet project.

MummyPigsFatTummy · 08/05/2014 14:11

This is the book I have: thewww.amazon.co.uk/Handmade-Glamping-Charlotte-Liddle-Hopping/dp/1908862742/ref=sr_1_11?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1399554391&sr=1-11&keywords=camping+and+craft

To be fair it is not just crochet by any means - there are lots of different projects. It was just that I fancied making a couple of the crochet ones but have been hampered by not knowing one end of a crochet hook from another. It is also not tent-based as such, a lot of the projects are more caravanny IIRC, but a lot are pretty transferable.
