Mosquitos etc in tents

We're going to the S of France on a Keycamps holiday - first post-children camping experience. Does anybody have any fantastic anti-mosquito ideas for tents? Dd1 and I are both asthmatic so sprays are out. I know there are some essential oils but can't remember which ones.

What we've always done is zip up all the bedrooms 30-60 mins before going to bed and sprayed them at that point to knock out anything already in - might that work for you? It still smells later but would assume the insecticide would have evaporated by then.
