Large families, what tent do you have? (6 of us)

I've read that 6 man tents are really too small for a famly of 6 , so does it mean we need an 8 man tent?? We don't want to be squashed, but I have read too that some campsites have a size restriction...

We have this www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/Vango-Tigris-800/875. We paid £500 including the footprint and carpet and the side canopy which is huge and definitely worth the extra money.

Yes you ideally need an 8 man tent for 6 people otherwise it will be crammed with no room for your stuff.

I have never had any problem with having a bigger tent. I always mention it but most people have massive tents nowadays so I think they tend to allow for it in most places.

I have a 5m soulpad for 7 of us, as dh hasn't one with us yet.

However I have only used it for weekends.

Looking at an 8-10man tent for everyone inc dh and dog.

There's 6 of us, we have an 8man tent, it's huge. Possibly too huge!

The ukcampsite website is good, there's loads of pictures posted by the campers of their tents all set up. Sone of them are so fancy, bunting, table cloths, fairy lights! I thought I was ott wanting a EHU :)
