Autotrain in France?

Anyone got any experience, want to go to the med and thought it might be easier than ferry/driving, but poss too expensive!

I think the Autotrain only goes from Paris now, and you travel separate from your car however you choose. Not done it, but also interested. Have you seen this website: www.seat61.com/Motorail.htm#.UsmIY3nnvRo Gives a good overview of different options. Those those from Holland/Germany look reasonable if using a Hull ferry crossing first ... Sometimes deals on DBAutozug

If it works out too expensive, you might want to check out another alternative which is Eurostar direct from St. Pancras to Avignon and then hiring a car. We did it last summer and it worked very well for us. Think they only run the direct service for about 8 weeks over summer.

We've just booked the eurostar to Avignon....am very excited Grin now just have to work out what we're going to do when we get there!

Need to take tent snowgirl, hence need car! We gave a galaxy though so Mia wondering if it will be too big.
