where do you store your tent?

I have a massive tent which weighs 47kg and I can't get it into the loft and mice ate my previous tent when it was in the shed over last winter.

I now have a new, much sturdier shed but reluctant to put tent in there as it is an air tent and was my massive treat to myself.

Where do all you guys keep your tents?

Any tips for me?

Would it fit in something like this inside the shed? If the lid clamps down firmly and it has no mouse holes? Then I would put mousetraps in the shed, and poison!

Slugs eat things made of plastic or nylon in our shed.

We keep some in a cupboard, but our big one lives under a table in the lounge! It's not in view tho.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 07/11/2013 22:23

Ours is in our garage.

I was about to suggest the same as Blu

Mattissy · 07/11/2013 22:25

Ours is in the garage, along with 62 bikes, 47 scooters and 543 half full tins of paint!

JustAnotherFucker · 07/11/2013 22:29

Mine has just moved from the space under the stairs to under dd's new ottoman bed. I am impressed with how much I've stashed in there but she is not happy as thinks I'll be lifting her bed up all the time to retrieve random things Grin

JustAnotherFucker · 07/11/2013 22:31

Matissy one yFlickr can ruin even the best laid heap plans for scooter storage.

12 or so scooters happily piled for years.... all toppled with one bloody massive flicker thingy Angry

MillyONaire · 07/11/2013 22:39

Ours is in the shed (with the door open most of the time Confused but we do have one of those somic mouse/rat frightner things plugged in and it's not been a problem so far (will be checking in the morning!)

reelingintheyears · 07/11/2013 22:44

Ours is in the shed, have just told DP about the tent eating mice, will be getting it out on Saturday, trouble is, like yours, ours weighs a bloody ton.

MissWimpyDimple · 08/11/2013 13:25

Also in an ottoman bed. But it only just fits and it's nowhere near as heavy as yours. It's a Horizon 8

bundaberg · 08/11/2013 13:29

ours is in the attic, but then it's in 2 bags, so easier to store.
perhaps you could split yours and put it up?

Milliways · 09/11/2013 16:30

Cupboard under the stairs has all our camping stuff (it goes round a corner at the back you have to crawl into!)

iwantanafternoonnap · 11/11/2013 11:33

I can't split mine as its all on one and massive I did think about one of those plastic bin things but are sneaky little gits and can squeeze in anywhere. They also ate some chairs last year but I had treated myself and DS to some new moon ones so wasn't too fussed.

Looks like it will just have to go by the side of my bed. Wish I could get it in loft but its so big it won't fit through the hole and I can't lift it up the ladder.

I have put some mouse stuff down to try and stop mice getting at the other stuff in there. I have a cat now so that might keep them away Grin

I have already booked my firs camping trip next year Grin

In a storage unit along with all camping gear, our roofbox , loads of stuff due to be sold on ebay and lots of other useless useful things that we can't fit in out flat.

Loft.

But it's very heavy.

There is no way it'd survive the mice in the sheds and we have a small living space.

But I would like a better solution.

Pachacuti · 13/11/2013 19:01

Right now it's behind the sofa. I am aware that this is not an ideal long-term solution Grin.
