Or is it just too cold? I really want to go....

I'm far too a fair-weather-camper for half term, unless we have an Indian summer. I'm freezing already!

We are going! I'm a little bit scared though Blush

Thermals, waterproofs, strong tent, plenty to keep kids occupied and wine? Wink

YourHandInMyHand · 12/10/2013 19:32

Oh god you've just brought my last october half term camping experience back to me! It was 2009 and we got absolutely covered head to toe in mud and rain. Everything got thrown in the boot as was and when we finally got a dry weekend we had to pitch the tent, mop the mud out of it, clean it inside and out (every inch seemed to be muddy), and then re-waterproof it. It also took me weeks to wash and dry all the clothes, bedding, towels, etc. Nightmare!

I swore no more October half term camping and so far I've stuck to it. Hideous it was, HIDEOUS!

Sorry ... too negative. You never know the weather may be brilliant. Where are you going?

YourHandInMyHand · 12/10/2013 19:33

Oh and I left my ex 2 weeks later. I'd already decided I was going before the camping break but a cold wet weekend didn't help me warm to him!

We are, but in our caravan. Does that count?!

NewNameforNewTerm · 12/10/2013 21:35

That, I could cope with, sophie. In fact I'm rather jealous as I'd love to go away at half term; we didn't get a summer holiday.

We are still debating... The weather has suddenly turned much colder, but I think two or three nights, farm camp site with a pub within walking distance, or a beach to walk on all wrapped up sounds fabulous....

Crockedpot it does :) if you stay in a B&B, too fecking cold for camping

I'm very impressed with you campers. I'm taking loads of layers for staying in the caravan!
