Camping in Europe....

Just wanted to make a recommendation for union lido near Venice Italy, its my first time in Europe and I've wimped out a bit with a static rather than proper camping, but this really is the best site I've been on in my life. Great pools, great beach, amazing shower blocks with nursery area in each with dinky showers, baby baths etc, 4 massive play areas, loads of restaurants, 2 supermarkets and its so amazingly clean. 1.20 for an icecream its not expensive either and they do all sorts of camping from permanent canvas tents with aircon to a basic pitch with hookup.

Wow, did not know you could get tents with aircon! You learn something everyday!

Sounds lush. Is it expensive? Did you drive or fly?

It has cost £1300 for 2 weeks for a 2 bed mobile home, 3 bed was 1800, that's mid August prices. We have flown here, all we needed to bring was clothes and pushchair, everything else is here to either loan or hire. Flights were about £120 pp with 20kg hold luggage included. It's not the cheapest holiday I've been on but its certainly been the most enjoyable one, and the most relaxing, despite being on my own with 2 kids and a baby!

Sounds really nice.
Well done going it alone too.
I took mine all over the place when I was a lone p.
I had some of my best holidays just me and my kids.
Seems a great price, especially the flights.

Did you hire a car, or did you find it easy to get around without?

Sounds lovely!

We've camped at Garden Paradiso which is close by, also great facilities and would recommend.we took our own tent tho and it was a heck of a drive!

We got a taxi transfer from the airport as too much luggage to attempt the bus. We didn't hire a car, there's a bus stop right outside the campsite and we got around very easily on that
