Most comfy sleep set-up?

After this last weekend, I know it's definitely not a deflated airbed and no sleeping bag!
I need to something for the next time we camp. Any recommendations?

SIMs are good. I have 7.5cm multimats which are just gorgeous, comfy and toasty warm. I find airbeds too cold unless they have foil or blankets beneath them.

As I'm getting older I don't like sleeping on the floor, however, so last year I bought a zonkpad, which is kind of like a z-bed that folds up really small, and rather than the thin airbed it came with I topped it with an Aerobed airbed (which is incredibly comfy) with a fitted fleece undersheet on top, it is the best camping sleep I've ever had.

Oh, the Zonkpad looks fab!Envy But I suspect that I would end up with ds3 and ds4 in it with me! The fleece undersheet sounds like a good plan as well.

I have this which i use with another sleeping bag inside so there are 2 layers below and 2 above. Then a fleece over the top of that.
Its the best nights sleep I have had camping.

Am tempted by the zonkpad (maybe ill get a demo of it soon ...). However, I adore my 10cm sim, with a patchwork quilt over, a vango square ended extra large sonno comfort sleeping bag and a proper pillow :)

A sheepskin on a futon matress. I know, i know the minimalists would have a fit!

Thermorest with memory foam topper is really comfy and I love it.

Ooooh I do like the look of the zonk pad beds.

Sorry to hijack but can anyone tell me where you can buy them any cheaper???

Lovecat · 14/08/2013 11:29

I got mine on ebay for about half the price of Soulpad's ones, Iam. If you search for 'anywhere bed' (it is identical) you will get loads of them.

I've just had a fortnight on a combo of a dozer with a camp bed from GO. Very comfy! Had camp bed, dozer, elec. blanket, fitted sheet and then an opened up double sleeping bag :)

Campbed on offer for £25

Self inflating airbed and three season sleeping bag. It has been almost too hot this week.

CatsAndTheirPizza · 14/08/2013 16:17

I meant self inflating mattress, not airbed!

Some fantastic ideas here!
