Wasps! What helps when camping?

The only good thing about the last few wet summers was the lack of wasps around. I appreciate we need them but they scare me silly.

Off camping in a few days and we'll obviously do a lot of eating outside and storing food in tent. Any suggestions to keep the buggers away?

My mum used to put a jam jar a bit away from us & they all went in there for the sugar & then got stuck

Get an empty 2l plastic bottle and carefully cut it just above the half line around the middle. Take the lid off, and insert the top part of the bottle into the base part of the bottle. Fill with something sugary- squash can be good, or beer.

So luring rather than killing eh? Dh has just come with what looks like an electrified tennis racket to kill anything that flies. probably will just make them angry!
