We often camp for a weekend but in a couple of weeks we're off to top of Scotland (me, DP and DD16). Plan is stay a couple nights in Durness then work our way down.

So we have limited room and are planning to take essentials - 2 pop up tents, air beds, sleeping bags. Basic plates/cutlery. But no point in cold box over a week? Should we take big 2 ring cooker or just cheap stove for tea and eat out or eat cold?

Also any sites near beautiful places to explore?

Have mosquito net hats and repellent ...

No real advice about equipment (other than your midge repelling equipment) but if you're going to Durness make sure you visit Cocoa mountain in balnakeil craft village. They serve the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. Worth the trip o. its iwn, but we also enjoyed a visit to smoo cave.
