Yet again we have left it very late to book due to work being annoyingly unpredictable Blush but we are free for the bank hol hurray!

Need to find a campsite in north wales, the Lakes or the Dales. Not too basic so not just a field, but not a holiday camp either. Something in between. And the moon on a stick please :o

Any recommendation lovely campers!

We stayed in a beautiful one in Dent once -- it's on the border of Yorkshire and Cumbria. I can't remember the name but Dent is tiny so there can't be that many campsites. I don't even like camping but I enjoyed that weekend! You are near the village for shops and cafes etc.

Think it must be this one.

Just got back from Caerfai Farm in Pembrokeshire (so West Wales, rather than North, but so, so lovely)
Views of the bay, flat pitches, showers/washing up etc, and the farm is an organic dairy farm, so lots of cheese and fresh milk available. Lovely little shop, ten minutes walk from the city of St David's (not really a city, more a town) which has great pubs/cafes etc.
Beaches nearby are superb for children - we rockpoolled/body boarded/sunbathed all week....
Can't recommend highly enough!

Just back from Piel Island in Cumbria.

It's a beautiful little island (you get there by tiny motor boat, v Famous Five) with a ruined castle, pub, & lovely campsite.

Quite basic - there's a toilet block Grin - & the pub for everything else, but absolutely gorgeous. Oh & £5 per tent per night. Bargin!

Wow thanks Raven will check it out :o

We stayed at Park Coppice, Coniston in 2008 for 2 weeks. Despite it raining every single day it was a fabulous site and we had a great holiday. (we were in a caravan though which imo makes wet weather alot more bearable!)

it's got good reviews here
