Washing up whilst camping

What age did you get your kids to wash up whilst camping? With or without adult help. Ours are 7 & 9, but don't wash up at home as we have a dishwasher.

My 9 and 12 year olds do the washing up. I let the 4 year old off.

TBH the 9 year old is pretty rubbish at it and I often have to redo some of it. However, the 12 year is pretty good.

We've just come home from camping & DD who is 6 yrs did all the washing up for us. I just take her to the basins when we get there & show her what to do - then she'll do it all from then on.

The kids 7-12 in our group of camping families wash up. In turn, probably with an adult.

Thhis is successful because we have a special term. 'Camping clean'.

LOL, I can't cope with 'camping clean'. I'd actually rather do it myself than let DH do it!! But wondering if the DSs need to start taking some responsibility?

Maybe I can get them to do the first scrape or final rinse with me? :)

mine do - aged 6 and 8, and a good job they make of it too!

Mine are 17 and 10 my 10 yr old washes up non greasy stuff fine my 17 yr old avoids if at all possible so I save her the greasiest nastiest ones

Ours are 7 and 9 and this year they are washing up to earn their holiday money. 1 euro per wash up is available to them to share so they can get 1.50 each per day if they do all meals...
