camping in the lakes next week...what to wear for bed?

we're going camping end of next week with dc's aged 2 and 3. First time camping with children and I have most things sorted except what to put them in to sleep. weather is forecast to be a bit cooler and wet on Thursday.
They have mini camp beds so will be raised off the floor. Dc1 (3.5) has a sleeping bag dc 2 has a grow bag and I was thinking of taking his duvet ?

I have a fleece sleep suit for each of them how many layers would be best under it and do you think a lightweight fleece jumper over the top would keep them warm enough?
TIA

When you say a bit cool what is the temp forecast to be? I think you'll find you need less than you think. If be very surprised if you need fleece sleep suits and layers under and sleeping bags /grow bags.

I'd take whatever they usually sleep in, the growbags / sleeping bags and the fleece suit in case. If you're worried take a cheap fleece blanket to put under them. I wouldn't bother with a duvet as well

For perspective I've always panicked about this and taken bags full of fleece sleeping bag liners and fleece blankets. We've never needed them. And that is in weather cooler than forecast for next week (I live in the north east)

Thank you! Not massively cooler tbh about 17/18° during the day is forecast at the moment . I was just worried it would get really cold for them overnight! So normal jammies and sleeping bag and fleece blanket might be enough :)
I feel reassured thank you as i'm currently planning on packing their entire wardrobe ;)

Its warm up here by lakes standards Smile

Despite living up here for years I've only camped here once and the ground was FREEZING. But its had a good chance to warm up over the last week so it shouldn't be too cold.

Where are you heading for?

That's good to know Daisy :) we're camping in Hawkshead :) weather forecast has improved for next week too so hopefully it won't change ;)

I have thermal vests & leggings for my two from Primark. I put their normal pj's over the top (if they're too hot I can take the normal ones off) and they both sleep in a sleeping bag on a roll mat on the ground. I have blankets too but tbh my kids never seem to feel cold when camping Envy
