Sleeping bag for 4yo?

Also, bedding for bell tent. DH and I will take Aerobed mattress and double sleeping bag... but what about DCs? 2 yo will be in camp cot, 4 yo on Bestway Contour Mattress probably. (They look good.) But should I take duvet for her or get a child's sleeping bag? Ideas?

My mum made one for me when i was little, which is now DS1's, just by cutting down an adult-sized sleeping bag. The kids ones I have seen tend only to be very lightweight, presumably for sleeping indoors.

I saw that somebody suggested getting an adult size sleeping bag and using a belt to tighten the bottom and prevent kids from wiggling under

BendyBusBuggy · 24/06/2013 19:22

I got a kids one from go outdoors for £15. DCs love them

Get an adult one and tie something round the bottom to decrease volume. If you think about the number of times you will use it it in a year, it will be outgrown very quickly! Just a duvet is def not enough though.

Where is a good place to get camping supplies from generally?

Go Outdoors or Amazon or I've bought a couple of bits from ebay retailers that are basically online shop fronts for small independent camping shops. I also got a good haul from Aldi when they had their camping promotion a few weeks back.

Sleeping bags for kids are often not very warm. (More designed for sleepovers than chilly nights in Blighty!)

If you have a local camping shop go there, can't beat a bit of expert knowledge. Otherwise Millets is a fair bet, or Go Outdoors.

My children have ajungilak sleeping bags, which are proper 4 season bags.

we got a Vango Nitestar Junior bag for DS, he seemed to be warm enough last weekend when it was quite cold. Cost £20 from Outdoor Megastore (use quidco for 10% cashback)

Can highly recommend the vango sonno junior sleeping bag just bought it for my 3 1/2 year old! its season 3-4 and she was toasty in this all hols! it is quite big but means value for money as will last longer than most childrens bags I looked at!
