I saw a thread on uk campsite which I thought you might be interested in. It shows pics of using the cobb and a storm kettle. The poster said they used the 'lighting up period' to boil the water. We are going to give this a go next time we camp and also try heating the water after we have used a (cheap and imitation) cobblestone to see if that creates enough heat. Just thought it might be of interest to you, certainly makes sense to use the energy if you can!

I actually returned the Cobb once I read that the stuff on the main plate bit that you cook on releases chemicals at the temperatures it reaches Sad

...I think it is because the Teflon cook top shouldn't be so close to such hot charcoals as it can de-gass if the temperature reaches over 400 +F which can make you feel ill. I wish they hadn't put Teflon on the surface as I would have loved a cobb oven.

I've got a Cobb and storm kettle and their adaptor to use with the Cobb. Its fab :)
