We really like Grande Metarie in Brittany and Parc de Fierbois in the Loire is nice too but not been there for ages.

I have it penciled in for next year!! Grin

In the uk,
We would like to find some where the kids can really run about and have some freedom!

Bracelands, Forest of Dean (Forestholidays.co.uk) is fab for kids just running around. We have just come back from a long weekend there, with 7 other families, and the kids just played rounders & frisbee + den building in the forest. We also had several long & short treks through the forest. There are loads of visitor attracions nearby. Loos are clean. NO onsite stuff - just lots of space so make your own fun. We love it.

No! Some of our party did but we went for a walk to the river with all the kids. Got sunburnt a bit too! Apart from a drizzly Saturday it was dry for putting tents up & cooking on Fri, dry for cooking (major curry) on Sat & fab on Sunday (large Chinese takeaway). 5 mins of light rain Monday am but tents dried before taking them down. Perfect.

Thought you couldn't go - were you camping?

Wood farm at charmouth is good- it has a play area (a nice one) and really nice modern toilet / shower / baby baths blocks, but also has lots of space, no bar (and hence no noisy kicking out itme). It is also close to the jurassic coast of Dorset, with faitrly quiet beaches, fossil walks, but has easya ccess to lyme bay and Seaton too. There is an indoor pool on site, £2 a swim.

We loved it last year, will definitely retur.
