Need to be 280 cm across so we can fit both airbeds in side by side b. easy to put up in the pissing rain with a baby and a toddler screaming, c. have a hydrostatic head of at least 3000mm and d. Not look like puked up nylon stockings, which is what our Campus Harvard resembles.

Am considering the Outwell Indiana but-can you remove the divider between the bedrooms fully, so you can get the two airbeds flush? And is it easy to put up?

Any other pointers also great.

Its actually for festival use and camping with friends-we don't plan to camp alone much-so I don't actually need huge amounts of space inside the tent, apart from the bedroom which must be at least 280x190.

Thank you wise campers Grin

Lucy, you know you said you went to your local camping megastore today? Do you mean the new one by Morrisons in Cheadle Heath?

LucyCampCat · 21/05/2006 21:43

Yep, it's fab!! don't take children if at all possible, ours spent all morning tripping over sig's Grin

ooh and get a discount card too, they're £4 but well worth it.

marthamoo · 21/05/2006 21:43

We were there too!!!! Oooh!!!

marthamoo · 21/05/2006 21:45

You may have seen me - I was the stressed out looking Mum with the demented 4 year old dashing from tent to tent tripping over guy lines...and the 9 year old going "hey, Mum, it'd be cool to have my own little tent.."

LucyCampCat · 21/05/2006 22:45

Didn't see you, but wa trying to stop my 2 from taking the tents down!

So go on then reveal all - how much did you spend? Grin

FillyjonktheSnibbet · 22/05/2006 08:20

have just seen that this has made discussions of the day!

But more importantly, where are these outdoor megastores of which you people speak? Any in Cardiff/Bristol/Swansea?

We didn't spend anything. Not a penny. We really only went to see if they had a Vango Diablo 600 'up' and they did, so we spent a lot of time ho-humming in it then came home empty-handed Grin

I don't know if they have any in South Wales/Bristol, fillyjonk - I can't even remember the name of the place - GoOutdoors, maybe?

LucyCampCat · 22/05/2006 12:50

Not even a tent peg puller outer? Grin

Why did the Diablo make you um and ah?

Oh \link{http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/page1/scp/Caravanning/main.asp?sitepages=Stores_main\here you go filly} a list of stores, not sure they'll be of too much use to you, but their on line prices are pretty good!

marthamoo · 22/05/2006 12:56

Well we like it - a lot - but it's so big.

They make tent peg puller outers?

LucyCampCat · 22/05/2006 13:03

I have some friends who reckon it takes them an hour to put theirs up fully, including all guys - far too long for our dd's to amoose themselves!

How many bedrooms do you want? Did you look at the Indiana 8 and Montana 6 that they had up?

and oooh yes a tent peg extractor is vital! Grin I couldn't find one on the Go Outdoors website but they do sell them. \link{http://www.towsure.com/product.asp?p=1182\here's one} on the Towsure website!

peachyClair · 22/05/2006 13:42

No outdoor megastore in this neck of the woods filyjonk, asaik. (we're south wales, just over bridge). There's a place in Usk that has a good range of tents, but otherwise you should go up to Cribbs - apparently for this week (I think- check UK campsite- Highbridge caravans ahve a huge display of tents on. HTH!

FillyjonktheSnibbet · 22/05/2006 18:47

oh dear, I have looked at the highbridge site, I can feel myself sliding down a very slippery slope....

outdoormagastore is an online shop! Work of the Devil and will make you spend way too much cash Grin

Homebird8 · 27/05/2006 09:59

Anyone ever camped in Dumfries and Galloway in June? We're going for a week next week and I'm wondering whether it'll be Dun-Freezing and Blownaway?
