Who does the long drive to SW France?

How do you manage it. we fancy a nice vilage in the country stop over one the way down but don't know where to start!

What do you all do for long journeys?

When we have driven to Messanges, Gascony, we stay at the Novotel in Chambray les Tours overnight (Dover-Calais crossing). The second day is very easy then, but you need an early Dover Ferry.

narbonne is great and there are campsites with your own toiket and shower which is fab! We normally stop around dijon on the way down
