Base Seconds 4.2... I did it!

Hello :)

I finally bought the base seconds. Was umming and aaahing for so long. I'm a single mum and really doubted I could manage putting it up and down by myself, especially after I went to Decathalon and saw the size of it in the flesh!

However, I just did it in my garden... 17 minutes to put up and down, how amazing is that?! Now despite the rubbish weather I am genuinely excited to start camping this year with DS. I can't believe how easy it is- I feel rather smug, even if I did at one point end up inside the tent with my arms and legs in a tangle...

(not sure how easy it would be in windy weather or rain though, but we'll deal with that later!)

I'm 5.1 and literally couldn't reach the sides to pull it in to put away- disaster I thought- but by sort of falling on it (!) I managed it. TOTALLY recommend it to anyone trying to choose!

Now off to buy suitable bunting...

Oh and that link should be a photo of it in my garden... obviously I didn't both doing the guys though. And the 17 minutes included running back and forth to my ipad to watch the youtube videos, hehe!

I've got a couple of the quechua pop ups, and they are great, as long as you can remember how to fold them.

I have the Base Seconds 4.1 and love the ease of it.

Congrats on your purchase. It's a fab tent. One tip - dont forget to undo the side and porch zips before trying to fold, its an absolute bugger otherwise (experience!)

Meant to say, I would recommend buying some longer pegs as the ones that come with the tent are fine for still French summers but have a tendency to pull out of our boggy, soggy wind blown campsites

Ahh thanks, I grabbed a bag of extra pegs at Decathalon- glad I did now!

Also spontaneously ordered a base seconds last night too... oops. Has now made cheap tent not so cheap- but I couldn't resist the thought of having the extra 'living room' to throw all of our stuff in and cook in.
