Featherdown Farm - Maltings

Just wondered if anyone has been here yet? I'm dreading going and being packed right next to another tent! Silly I know... but spent ages finding something we'll all enjoy and we can afford (going on a very cheap mid week) but still be special! We usually camp (in the rain...with flu...) to keep costs down but can't bear it this year ;) I like the idea of going fossil hunting and then nature trail and Roman bits and pieces nearby. Would love to hear any good alternatives within 2hr drive of Cambridge too.
Thanks in advance x

I've down featherdown in the new forest in October. The whole featherdown thing is amazing. Take plenty of candles, (we had tealights everywhere) torches, jumpers for the evening. I also took glow sticks for the guide ropes.
You'll end up obsessed with keeping the fire going over night!!!

Search for Featherdown farms and the amount they actually pay the farmers! It is truly appalling!
If you can find an independant farm, the farmer will get a better deal.

Oooh thanks :) I hadn't thought about how much the farmers get paid..... will look into alternatives too although DH worse nightmare would be BB having to chat to cheery people every morning!

thanks again
