not exactly glamping

I'm a relatively recent convert to camping and have a big HiGear safari 6 www.gooutdoors.co.uk/sahara-6-p150784?utm_source=google&utm_medium=SEO+product+search tent, which I love, but it is in need of a certain je ne sais quoi.
We are camping in Pembrokeshire this summer for 2 weeks. What little, non-expensive touches can I sneak in to glam up my camping experience (dh is very back-to-basics so I won't get away with much!) Any ideas?

Have you got a carpet in the day area? It has made so much difference to our tent and would recommend. Feels very luxurious.

No we haven't got a carpet. I guess they are probably a bit pricey, but I do quite fancy one! Thanks for the suggestion.

Does it have to be bought for purpose, or have I just found a use for the offcuts in the garage??

Or maybe just a nice rug?

Nice rug? Or couple of picnic rugs sewn together?
Or... You could look on eBay . Find out the dimensions of your living area and see if there is a footprint carpet for a same size tent on there. Sometimes you can get old designs ( ie for a previous seasons model) cheaply.
Solar fairy lights?... Excellent for finding your way back to tent in the dark
Pretty tea light lantern ?

We have 3 picnic blankets that cover the floor of our big tent and we just use 2 in the small tent, it is more flexible than a carpet and can easily be taken outside for a shake.

Other cheap suggestions are Ikea bags for storage, folding crates for carrying washing up to the sinks, draw string bags for shower kit and to keep your clothes dry while in the shower and for going to the beach.

Microfibre towels are not that cheap but well worth the cost for the space saving and fast drying.

UFO lamps with lots of LED's unless you are going electric

We do fairly hardcore camping too and lighting is my biggest bugbear. We have recently started o have a hook up sometimes so that we can charge the kids gadgets and have a decent light. No TV or heaters though
