I have heard that this is a great campsite. Anybody been there before ? Any links to private owners of mobiles on-site there, that's usually the cheapest way to go.

Hi, cailin, I have been but about 17 yrs ago but I do remember it being nice so I've booked for us to go in June.
I did try for Hippocampe the smaller one opposite but it was only bookable from sat to sat and I got much cheaper flights for wed to wed. I booked direct with the campsite.

I've been to La Sierne a couple of times - last time 2yrs ago - it is a great site, with lots to do for kids, entertainment, great swimming pool, restaurant, takeaway - whatever you want is there basically!
I know you can book direct with them for a caravan rather than use eurocamp etc but then you dont get the kids clubs.. french life go there and I think they are the cheapest company.
This year we are going to another campsite nearby and are flying direct to Perpigan from manchester with BMIbaby for £15 each way per person.. thats in august too!
Any questions - fire away..

We went here 2 yrs ago with our 3.5 twins. I was pregnant with DD and had really bad morning sickness so spent most of the time in bed groaning and throwing up! DH and DS's had a fab time though! It is a lovely site with good facilities and a great pool and good entertainment. There is a lot to do outside the camp. We went to a waterpark nearby and went over the border to Spain one day. We would have gone on a train trip up into the mountains had I been a bit more with it. Argeles is nice and there is a train/bus type thing from the campsite to the town. The little villages along the coast are good for trips to local markets etc
The only downside I remember (apart from throwing up all day!) was that it was very windy with the mistral coming off the mountains.
We went with Canvas Holidays.
Hope you have a good time.

I have contacted the people who run www.frenchmobilehomes.com & have actually booked two weeks in August. Brill value. It's worth taking a look at the website, the mobiles look lovely & even have tv & DVD, great for my two in the evenings. They told me that they are doing a special offer of £160 per week in April, May & September, so if you are thinking of going then it might be worth contacting them. Thereviews of the campsite look really good & I can't wait to go. Thanks for the replies, but if anyone has any info on the locality I'd love to hear it.
