Can't decide - Outwell Hartford XL or Gelert Corvus 6+2

I like them both for different reasons. Has anyone got experience of either (or both) these tents. Thank you.

Family of 4 - me and three kids, so needs to be easy (ish) to put up, although I could get help from the older two (aged 11 and 8)

We have the Hartford XXL. I have to say I don't love it - it has pros and cons.
Pros are:
Quite easy to put up but you need someone fairly tall to lift up the centre at the beginning - you may need another adult's help at that point.
Very light and spacious living area - great if you have to spend time inside in the rain, and also need space for wet gear.
We liked the 4 separate pods in the XXL (think the XL has 3?)

BUT major con for us:
The pods are really small - only just enough space for 2 airbeds squeezed in leaving no space for luggage, and the beds can only fit across the pod so one person has to climb over the other to get in/out. May not be an issue for you but a pain for us when getting up in the night for young children. Also the pods ceilings slope so one person's face is very near the lining - too claustrophobic for me.
The pods are ok for kids but not big enough for 2 adults.

We had bad weather this summer and it coped ok but not brilliantly. We also struggle to get the SIG properly flat for some reason.

So overall I would give it a cautious recommendation with those various gripes.

I think the hartford would be the more sensible choice. We are off to camping shop to see if we can see one in real life. Already seen the gelert one and we loved it...

Thanks, funnily enough that is exactly the tent I have bought in the end. Hoping to try it out in the garden this weekend. Smile
