We got the largest Thule. It's been super, is full, looks good and has to stay on the car all year round.

I'd get the Thule roofbars too though, not the Halfords. The Halfords ones whistle unless bound with gaffer tape.

haha yes we were def going to get the thule roof bars having had a pretty bad experience with some Halfords ones on our focus a few years back!

another question: roof rails with bars across? or just roof bars? we can do either on our car it would appear

our roofbox is a Halfords, no whistle ! the 580L one. Took it up and down M5 from Midlands to Cornwall this summer with no isshoos

We have roof bars integral to car (prev car we had to affix bars when using the box)

Ah, the mind boggles. Grin

We just bought the bars. Our car has rails that run down each side of the roof and the bars attach to them. We did find the chap at Halfords very helpful though.

We have Thule bars and Kamei roofbox. Look at roofbox.com for advice, we also bought from there twice and customer service was excellent both times. You may also be able to get one via bay if you are not in a rush for it.

thanks all.

we can get roof rails fitted to the car. which we could then add roof bars to.

or we can get just the roof bars that will fit into the rail fixings and just have those across it. if that makes sense?

there is way too much choice out there!

have been having a browse on roofbox.com too, and ebay! just saw a thule pacific 200 on there with a buy-it-now of £150 which is tempting!

hmmmmmm

ooh, is it worth having one that opens on both sides? does that make packing/unpacking easier?

I like the open both sides action. We use ours all the time as we adopted a pony sized dog and the boot is his territory now. We park on street at home and to see most of our friends and family and the not fossicking around in the roofbox with the car door open on a busy road has been great. I am not that short (5"3ish) and can't see into the roofbox unless I'm perched on the inside of the car with the door open iykwim.

cool, thanks :)

am now trawling ebay to see if i can find a nice one.

although, I have discovered that you can get a mazda branded one that they sell as an accessory, for less than buying one normallhy
