it's just an overnight - I have a 2 man tent, sleeping bags, mats, calor gas stove. What else do I need (food, utensils obviously) thanks - it's been years since I camped, and never done it with a toddler!!

A few toys, a ball and maybe a picnic rug for him/her to sit on and play. If you are going this weekend, sunscreen and a sunhat as I gather it will be nice. Most weekends, wellies and full waterproofs are essential and basically mean they can run out and play whatever the weather is doing.

Take warm clothes for the evening and for sleeping in - perhaps a fleece all in one for the toddler if you have one. Otherwise, warm pyjamas, socks and layer him/her up. It can get chilly at night even in this weather.

Toddlers love camping and, hopefully, he/she will make lots of friends on site.

Lots of wine for you!

Oh and take a potty for night time wees even if you don't normally use one. You don't want to be traipsing off to the loos if you can help it.

MummyPig - she is not yet dry at night, but the potty might come in handy for me!!

Have several blankets and warm fleecy things for bed; and a bottle opener!!
