Weather Forecast for next week...

Is hot hot hot! We're booked to go to the S of France leaving Friday but now reconsidering as the forecast for Calais is 30+ and Paris/Loire 40ish. Even at home the forecast is high 20s for us on the south coast.

Arghh, what to do... I don't want to lose our deposit and I do really want to go to the site that we have booked but I could def live without the 10 hour drive each way and the diesel saving would be more than the deposit.Plus annoyed with myself for not sticking to my guns and not booking in advance as I had meant to.

Just want to go camping... in the sun!

Have you already booked your crossing? Are you camping or have you booked a mobile home on a camp site? If you have booked the crossing, then why not camp in the Loire/Paris region? Its only 5 hours drive, its still France, lovely weather, lovely wine, cheese etc. If the weather takes a downward turn, then pack up and go south. If you won't lose a lot with your deposit, then don't worry about it too much, though some big sites will want the rest of the balance so do check your terms and conditions! I personally would not stay here (england) if my crossing was already booked and paid for as the weather will almost definately be better in France. Go for it and enjoy your holiday!

Definitely going to France - just a bit grr that we'll be missing the nice weather at home especially as we're 10 mins walk to the beach. We went to the Loire in June and it is lovely but not sure want to go back again so soon. We're camping and haven't checked the sites t&cs but would def lose our 170 euro deposit if we don't go there at all plus the second week we were planning to pay by camping cheques (already paid for - 7 for £50!) so don't really have that much more to pay but it is probably £300 diesel and tolls so need to factor that in. Plus I don't want to spend two lovely sunny days stuck in the car uneccessarily.

Sorry not quite sure what the problem is? You say you want to be camping in the sun and it sounds as though you will be. And while you'll be missing good weather at home it will be better where you are... Confused

You're quite right YellowDinosaur and I consider myself suitably told off!

There is no problem, we're off camping & it'll be sunny.... I'm as happy as a happy thing.

Sorry for being grumpy! For some context we are currently meant to be in Wales camping but had to cancel due to pissing syphyllitic every pissing day. Off to Wiltshire tomorrow though and forecast not bad so all fine in the end!

Hope you have a lovely holiday wherever you end up :)

That would be pissing syphilitic rain
