We're quite new to camping so don't want to travel too far until we know what we're doing a bit more!

Hertford C&CC site is quite nice if you want to be near a town. I was booked into Town Farm campsite in Bucks earlier in the year but had to cancel. It has good reviews.

Thanks, I'll have a look at both of those. I'd rather go somewhere with a recommendation if you know what I mean.

watching with interest as we're looking to do one or two nights close to home in this area too :) (no helpful suggestions though!)

Went to Town Farm in Ivinghoe last weekend and it was lovely. I plan to go back as it's not far from me.

EHU for caravans and motorhomes only. Big field. Firepits. Great play area. We did have great weather, could be quite blustery as it's high.

I was just coming on to say Hertford but I was beaten to it! Lovely friendly site. Interesting county town and Hartham Common is lovely for walks etc. Bit of a trek into town (going is ok but it's uphill all the way back).

We used to go to Houghton Mill near Huntingdon quite a lot. Pretty riverside site by NT property and nice pub 2 mins away. (Disclaimer - haven't been for 10 years - may have changed!)

Ferry Meadows at Peterborough is good as well but I'm not sure if that is just caravans.

We've stayed at Hertford before and walked into town for dinner and drinks. It is a nice site but pricey if you aren't a member of C&CC IIRC.

We're going www.roseberrytouristpark.co.uk tonight for the weekend, it has loads of good reviews on www.UKCampsite.co.uk but we can report back on monday. Tomorrow we are planning a trip into Cambridge for the day because we haven't been there for years.
