Good Somerset Campsites?

Does anyone know of a good campsite in Somerset? We want to use it to visit attractions on the area, so the campsite doesn't need to have loads of facilities. Just need it to have clean toilets and hot showers, be child friendly and space for our big tent!

Hi, the site at Glastonbury is fabulous as I have stayed there in the past. Toilets clean and plenty of showering facilities.

Can't remember if it takes dogs or not though.

It's called the Isle of Avalon....knew it would come to me if I thought long enough..

I'm off here on Saturday and can't wait. Apparently the pitches are huge.

Can you let me know how you find it, Happy? We're thinking of going away in a couple of weeks time and that was somewhere on my 'possible' list.

Home farm at st Audrey's bay is lovely. PIL have a static caravan there but there are also some camping pitches. It has an indoor pool, pub, kids play area, mini Stonehenge and an almost private beach.

Will do. We're there for a week but will update when I get back.

Thank you for all these suggestions. I will check them all out!

Broadway House near Cheddar is nice.

Just came back to say that Greenacres was lovely. Basic but perfectly adequate shower block (hot water in the showers with decent pressure), a couple of ladies in a bell tent who did crafts with the kids (meaning I got to play with my tarp while DS was entertained), local shop van visits in the evenings with wine/cider/stuff for the bbq. My favourite site so far.

Thanks so much for coming back with feedback, Happy. I don't know that we're now going to be able to go away in the next few weeks as originally planned, but it's good to know that this site will suit our needs.
Glad you had a good time :)
