Anyone used a Ploo?

If anyone does use a Ploo www.thebrowncorporation.com/products/ploo this summer I'd be interested to know how it goes. We've wimped out and are going for a site with toilets, but would like to do the more rustic thing another time.

Only problem at the moment is the DH has told me the 16 stone limit is not adequate (for him).... so it looks like I might be needing a new DH then!

Their website says they were temporarily out of stock in MAY, and no update since then. I don't see how they are eco-friendly, unless the idea is that you put the cardboard box in the compost at the end of the season (though they don't say this anywhere I can find). BTW you shouldn't put poo in compost, though urine is good in small amounts.

No but I have been to a site without facilities and used a luggable loo with this chemical stuff. We were there for 2 days and the toilet didn't need changing and we could keep it in the porch of our pop up at night without any smells. So all good!

I have a luggable loo, too, and use it with bags as in the Ploo. Only advantage of the Ploo is that it's light and collapsible, and compostable at end of season.

While that is an advantage surely a pretty major disadvantage is that if it gets wet you are stuffed!

The luggable loo is pretty bulky but you can pack stuff inside it so not so bad really. And for pretty much the same price it is reusable for years which I would think is more environmentally friendly than something ultimately disposable.
