A double skin 6 person tent with large porch.?
Not bothered about bed config... But must have decent HH. 3000 or more.
A living area would be good .. Doesn't have to huge.
Cheers in advance

I borrowed a Higear Kalahari 8 this weekend which would comfortably sleep 6. It has an HH of 3000 and a good living space. The bedrooms are seperate pods so very flexible if there are less of you.

You can buy the porch seperately although they are sold out in some Go outdoors shops.

I was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting it to be a bit naf but it was lovely. It definitely needs a porch though.

Happy huntingSmile

Very nice ... Like it... Love that flexibility and good doors too. But not double skinned.
Doesn't seem to be many about tbh
Thanks :-)

We have one of these and the Go Outdoors Kalahari porch fits on it fine (although not a perfect colour match, different blues if you're fussy like me )

It's pretty universal for that sort of tunnel tent so might be worth finding your perfect tent then Googling to see if anyone's successfully added a porch from another manufacturer.

What do you mean double skinned? That has sleeping pods, so a fly and an inner....do you want that all the way through the porch area too?

troutpout · 06/08/2012 20:38

Yep .. An inner tent for living area and bedroom pods .. Then a fly over the top... So there is 2 layers of tent. There is an insulation gap between the inner and outer .
We have a smaller one 4 man like this ... You pitch inner first.. Then the fly second. Porch is just a bit of the outer fly of tent
They seem to be far and few between ... Most seem to pitch all in one these days.
Thanks anyway... Much appreciated.

DB has the Hi-Gear Voyager 6 from Go Outdoors. It's on offer atm. It has bedroom inners and the lounge area has a SIG so it's pretty warm. You can also buy a carpet and a canopy/extension that's half-price atm, too.

How about the Outwell Hertford XL. I don't think you get many tunnel tents that are double skinned, but our friends have (an old version) Hertford and that is double skinned - not so sure of the new ones though.
