Thinking of getting a Vango Icharus 800 for next year. There will be 4 of us, next year ds1 will be nearly 9 and ds2 will be 3. Wanted to get something bigger so we could invite family and friends to join us.

Anyone have this tent. Views appreciated!

TIA

I haven't got one but after the reviews I have read online it is the tent of my choice as soon as the funds are available.

Will be watching this thread with interest though just in case anybody has something else to add

Thanks Monkey, glad to hear the reviews are good. I haven't read any. We were at a camping shop today and went in one, looked really sturdy and spacious.

Yes I saw one in a camping shop and couldn't believe the size!
We have the 3 man Vango 350 for just me and dh. It takes minutes to put up. When I looked at the Icarus it had a similar design (obviously bigger with a few more poles) but still VERY simple to put up.

we own a Vango kasari 600. Vango tents are the bees knees!

We've just bought the Vango Tigris 800, which looks exactly the same as the Icarus, having upgraded from our slightly older version of the same tent, so I think that says a lot. Fab tent, plenty of room to sit in the central part and eat if the weather is bad, v straightforward to put up and sturdy once it's up. We've always had Vango tents and never had any problems with them. You won't regret it.

Another thumbs up for the Vango Tigris 800 - bought one and used it for the first at Easter (pouring rain and freezing cold Grin )

Loads of room inside, easy to put up and pack away again and stood up to quite high winds as well. Would def recommend!
