Would anyone be able to recommend (or tell me to steer clear of)...

the Vango Zeal 500.

I'm looking for a lightweight weekend tent for 2 adults and 2 kids, but one that is easy to pitch when I'm on my own with the kids. I understand this has a 'linked in groundsheet' in the porch (not sewn in, but overlapping with the porch wall) - is this a problem? Are Vangos usually reliable wrt poles/stitching etc.?

Any feedback gratefully received.

Vango is a good brand.

Bathtub groundsheet in porch area is actually a good idea as it is the area most likely to get wet and filthy so you can pack it up separately from the rest of the tent.

One thing to watch is the number of people they say it'll fit. I don't know the Zeal, but we have a couple of different Vango 500s (5 man) where I work. I'd say a 500 would fit five, but only if they were Very Good Friends with no stuff.

If your kids are small, you'll be okay, but you might consider looking for a 600 or 700 in Vango sizing to get more space for bags and stuff.

Agree on the Vango sizing...we've an Orchy 400...its more of a 200 lol
