camping with a dog

We went on our first camping trip last weekend - everyone loved it in spite of the rain Smile
We took our dog with us who also thoroughly enjoyed himself too but it has left us with a few questions...
the dc all love the beach and a lot of beaches are off limits to dogs during the summer - is there a list of beaches somewhere that are dog friendly?
What do you do when it rains?! I sent the dc off with dh to find somewhere warm and dry to spend a couple of hours but that wouldn't be ideal if we went for a week and it poured with rain the whole time!
We've rebooked at the same campsite for the end of august so will plan everything a bit better this time :)

the good beach guide tells you if dogs are allowed or not. also if you google the county and dogs permitted beaches...or something similar .... you can get a list normally.

we have found having a dog around if its dry to be great, but like you a problem if it rains as lots of things are off limits. the IOW in particular was awful as we weren't allowed in any of the cafes - rural dorset is much more agreable.

We're going to Suffolk at the end of august - hopefully less rain this time Hmm
