I have done a few camping trial-runs (one nighters in little borrowed tents) and have had decided to buy everything in the end-of-season sales this year and then camp next year. Was aiming for a Vango Icarus 500 or 600 (5 or 6 berth) having seen a friends'. But I've found a second hand Lichfield Commanche 8 for £50.
We are a family of 4 (dds are 1 and 4) (but haven't ruled out DC3)
q1) Which would you get - more expensive brand new Icarus or cheaper, used Lichfield?
q2) Would the Lichfield cause trouble being an 8 berth? I think I have read about some campsites charging more for tents over 6 berth.
btw the Lichfield is a bathtub SIG, with full SIG sleeping pods. The Icarus is a fully-full SIG.
