Shoes for camping

I have a pair of Crocs, but for some reason my feet just don't agree with them and they are really uncomfortable.

I was in the camping shop and saw some Keen, Merrel and Teva ones. The Keen ones look good as they have a covered toe (DC also have them and they seem to be comfortable).

Any recommendations? I'm not particularly bothered about the fashion aspect. Looking for something comfy which will last (at those prices, they should!).

I need more info
Are they for nightime squashing of feet dazedly into as you stable for the zip and lurch in the direction of the toilets. Or for everyday wear.?
Sandals or fully covered shoe?

Anything easily kick on and offable so that you can go in and out of the tent without reading wet grass in.

I use flip flops - also v useful for the shower. Or Birkies, or Mephisto sandals (though some of those are truly hideous, mine aren't!)

A mix of everything troutpout. I don't have sandal ATM, so could use something multi-purpose if possible.

Flip flops are great, but for some reason I find them really tough to walk in Blu.

What Blu says about something easily kick offable.

I've been looking for something but they have to be waterproof, not flip flops, and I don't want any holes around the toes.

though I really don't want to pay £25 for something as ugly as crocs

For £19 I may get a pair of these What do you think?

I love my Teva Tirra sandals, they are way more comfortable than they look. Crocs or wellies are unavoidable for navigating the campsite in wet or muddy weather though.

I always wear crocs/birkies. Wellies if it is horrible English weather!

YellowDinosaur · 04/07/2012 18:43

Flip flops and wellies here too

My 'crocs' were £3.99 from Lidl (the shame) and I swore they were only for the garden. Then I wore them on our latest camping trip and they were perfect. Is there anywhere I can go for help before I get too carried away by their practicality and comfort?

I wear a mix of Aldi crocs and walking boots laced so i can slip them on and off.

Have all terrain type sandals too but cant slip them off so tend to reserve them for days off site.

Nearly always finish up in crocs after a few days because they are just soo easy.

We rarely take wellies camping these days TBH.

I wear wellie shoes.. Or sketchers crocs ( very cheap but dont have holes in daft places so good on dewy grass) .... For slipping on easily.
Rest of the time I'm in flip flops or walking boots or converse.

I were old wellies with the tops cut off. Easy to slip on and off and keep my feet dry on wet grass
