After so nearly cancelling as the forecast had been dire, 4 families together, we all set up in the dry on Friday, had a great meal, walked to a brilliant pub to watch the England match and the locals made us all really welcome in a packed pub then sat outside until 11pm.

Saturday we had fry up breakfast (late) and went for a long walk in the brilliant countryside (near the ridgeway). A few small showers came and went later but we had shelter in a gazebo, had a BBQ and sat outside around a fire with marshmallows and wine.

Today we sat in the sun and went to the river. All tents were away perfectly dry and we didn't leave the site until after 4pm.

Can't wait to go again now :)

Amazing! We're hoping to get away next weekend because the forecast looks okay. I will be packing ALL the waterproofs just to be on the safe side though.

That's the best way - the sun always goes in whenever I take my jumper off!

Hope the weather holds for you too :)

Glad you had a good time. We had a good weekend even though it rained a fair bit. Think we got lucky with the timing of the rain as it was nice and dry most of the time we needed to be outside. It was also sunny on the last day so dried the tent out.

That sounds nice - where did you go?

We had dry mornings but wet for the rest of the day. I have nothing but admiration for people in tents because it was cold. I even had my gloves on.

We went here and would highly recommend it! :)
