Suitcase or bag?

I'm trying to pack for our first family camping holiday - 2 adults and a 5 year old. Are there any views on whether it is easier to pack clothes in a suitcase or a bag? And how can I convince DH that we might need blankets as well as a sleeping bag? He thinks he is Bear Grylls!

I think a suitcase might be easier to store...in the car and whilst you camp. Dont convince DH just pack the extra blankets...and have you got a windbreak? We had two...they're great for privacy just outside your tent....nobody sees you first thing then with bedhead!

We always have to take a little rucksack each as our car is rammed to the max and they are easier to squeeze in.... but, if you have the room, I would have thought a suitcase would be easier for living out of in the tent.

Bags are soft and easier to squish in around everything else.

If you have room for blankets then take them. Better to take them just in case than to be cold and miserable at night. If you're sleeping on airbeds then a blanket on top of the airbed makes a big difference.

Definitely need blankets! we took two each last time and still ended up buying more - Poundstretcher and B&M do lovely fluffy throws and fleecy ones, dead cheap and in lovely bright colours and patterns. There is no such thing as too many blankets when you're camping!
