DS (7) hates his mummy style bag so I got a junior pod Gelert but its too small, and is also quite thin so am not too keen to get the adult version although he is a wriggly sod. Don't want to get a down one but happy to pay for something that lasts... am thinking of an adult and just tying the bottom a bit ...
but am lost don't know what I'm looking for really, is it grams of fill or season or climate range or what..... too much looking has fried my brain! he is a skinny minny so something warm would be good but off to france where it will be hot Grin as well so if can open up also good......help!

You need a square style bag like this, in at least a 3 season - you can always open it up a bit if he gets too hot. Down isn't warm once it gets wet and it very pricey.

If I was getting a sleeping bag, I would buy the bag above or the slightly less warm nitestar 300 square.

That's brilliant, really pleased you are happy with them :) I decided I couldn't justify buying a new sleeping bag this year in the end, so I'm glad that someone benefitted from my exhaustive research Grin
