Sorry in advance if this has been done before but..... do you know of a tent cleaning and re proofing company?

We have just got ours out for a check before we go away in August, and although it is in good nick, and I have had to clear some mould spores off the bottom (under) layer with Milton, I think after this year, it could do with a good clean and re proof before we use it again next year.

TIA

Is it canvas or erm tent fabric stuff?

The general concensus is that once a tenty type tent starts to degrade and let in water it is buggered.

The life of a tenty tent is considered to be 6 months in full sun.

If it's just a bit mouldy, give it a good clean as you are.

If it is canvas ignore all of the above and no I don't sorry.

We had a zip on our Outwell repaired by a company in Lymm a few years back, AFAIK they did that sort of thing also.
Will try to remember the name of the company! It was in the middle of the Cheshire countryside.

Gobbler I have a tenty tent, not a canvas one, so I might be ok cleaning as I am for now, Terry if you can remember the name it would be very handy as I think it will need a tickle and a tart up soon.

I suspect that if you had a large enough capacity washing machine you could do it your self with some of the nikwax products.

I've just checked the nikwax site it says very specifically NOT to put the tent in the waching machine but they do have a suitable product.
