Reviews Annecy camping please

Hi has anyone been to La Serraz or any of the other Annecy mobile home sites ? Some of the reviews via Google are a bit dodgy but this is all that is left now for the summer holidays (booking late as usual!). We want to mess around on Lake Annecy for a week in July but am now a bit .
Any advice welcome !

We stayed there several years ago (DH, 3DCs under 6, GM and me). We stayed in early June and when we got back I discussed with a colleague who had stayed there the previous August.

Me - campsite was quiet
Her - campsite was heaving
Me - facilities were simple but fine
Her - facilities were under pressure
Me - roads were quiet
Her - traffic jams everywhere
Me - Chamonix-Mont Blanc was increddible, it was so clear we could practically see our house!
Her - it was cloudy we could see nothing

There's the problem. Just out of the height of the season it was great. In the peak of the season it was dreadful.

Oh yes, DH has reminded me, it's in the mountains which means that the weather can be excellent or dreadful.

If it is the last turkey in the shop then forewarned is fore-armed:

• the roads can be busy so make sure you set out to visit anywhere early
• take wet weather gear just in case
• make sure you have games/books etc which you can enjoy indoors if the weather closes in

On the plus side

• would you rather be in a traffic jam outside Milton Keynes or Annecy?
• the lake is beautiful
• Annecy is well worth a visit
• the scenery is stunning
• Savoyard food is wonderful taster
