Booking

do most sites these days require pre booking?

Given the unpredictability of the weather, and tightness of money we really don't want to book then not go because it's pissing down

We've got two tiny children and it's no fun camping in Te rain with them

We want to be able to chuck the stuff in the car and go at the last minute but also don't want to risk being unable to find somewhere to stay

We are chronically disorganised have never pre-booked more than a week ahead. Helps that we're not too fussy about facilities, often camp off-season, usually stay pretty close to home and only camp 2-3 nights tops so we can retreat early if necessary.

This weekend we've not been able to get in at the (lovely, v.popular) campsite we wanted but they've recommended us another one nearby which has non-EHU pitches available (wish us luck, Scotland with no heater :o )
