Anyone got one? They seem quite cheap, wondering what the quality is like???
also, can you use them as a fire bowl/pit thingy for burning wood as well?

We have one - only used it a few times as a BBQ so far, but really like it.

Is sturdy and well made and I am not sure about the fire bowl/pit bit as it isn't very deep - well around 5cm I think, so as long as you piled everything in the middle I think you probably could.

Can't wait to try mine at Thistledown later in the year, I am hoping that the chains will take the weight of my dutch oven too.

one of the reasons i found it was that i was looking at tripods for a dutch oven... would be great if it could be all these things!
thanks for the reply. might just treat myself at the end of the month. Required camping equipment list is getting longer by the day as i spend more time looking at camping websites...

we have them and they are really good. just make sure they are on stable ground and you fix the legs on in the right direction!

Was perusing this thread and couldn't help myself, just had to have a Google...
...Debenhams have Landmann reduced by 37% online

SalomeD · 17/04/2012 15:51

Ignore that one, I see there's lots of places where they are under £30 - seems like a great buy.

V. tempted as we have a Weber BBQ which takes up loads of space and our favourite sites either have their own firepits or you can take your own

hettie · 17/04/2012 16:55

can you take the legs on and off quite easily for packing into the car?

muchostinky · 17/04/2012 19:43

From what I remember it is just a bolt holding them on - so easy peasy to remove and put back on

hettie · 17/04/2012 20:14

cool so i'd just need to take a spanner then? Can't see on any websites how long the tripod legsare- are they all as one or can they be broken down into bits (like poles?)
sorry for all the questions, but it looks like a much cheaper option than investing in two seperate bits of kit... this and this

loubielou31 · 18/04/2012 12:21

We've got one of these which just folds up and goes in it's own special bag. (We've not actually used ours yet but my brother loves his). Pricier though.

muchostinky · 18/04/2012 17:26

The legs are in three sections I think, but definitely split into more than one piece.

hettie · 18/04/2012 17:39

thanks mucho.... am flirting (heavily!) with a landman purchase!

muchostinky · 18/04/2012 20:30

You should - they are not too expensive for a punt! I really like it!
